Brasilia [Brazil], 18th June (ANI/WAM): Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, will lead a high-level UAE delegation to Brazil on 14-15 June 2023 to discuss the UAE-Brazil strategic partnership in various fields. The visit follows President Lula da Silva’s state visit to the UAE on April 15, 2023, his first official visit to the Middle East since his election earlier this year.

During his visit, Hashemi met with senior officials, including: Celso Amorim, Chief Advisor to the Brazilian Presidency; Rodrigo Otavio Pacheco, President of the Federal Senate and National Assembly; Vice President and Development, Industry and Commerce Minister Geraldo Alckmin and Environment and Climate Change Minister Marina Silva. The two sides discussed cooperation across key areas, including renewable energy, science and technology, sustainable development, climate action, aviation, space, food safety and agriculture, transportation and logistics. Furthermore, discussions during the visit focused on the negotiations on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the UAE and Mercosur. The two sides also discussed efforts to advance cooperation between the BRICS bloc and the UAE.
