STOCKHOLM, June 25 (Xinhua) — One person was killed and several others were injured when a roller coaster derailed in Stockholm on Sunday, Swedish TV reported.

Park officials told public broadcaster SVT that one of the cars of the Jetline roller coaster at the Grona Lund amusement park derailed and fell to the ground.

“This is an unbelievably tragic and shocking incident,” park spokeswoman Annika Troselius told SVT. “Unfortunately, we have learned of one death and many injuries. “

Seven people, including children and adults, were taken to hospital after the crash, police said.

The amusement park was evacuated to allow rescue workers to work.

SVT reporter Jenny Lagerstedt, who was waiting in line for another ride, said the carriage had fallen from a height with passengers inside.
