Texas [US]June 26 (ANI): Authorities in Texas are investigating the Friday death of a ground crew member at San Antonio International Airport who was “ingested” by the plane’s engine, CNN reported.

In a statement to CNN on Sunday night, the NTSB said: “On Friday, June 23, Delta Air Lines Flight 1111 arrived at San Antonio International Airport from Los Angeles while taxiing to the gate with one engine. staff were sucked into the aircraft. The engine at around 10:25 p.m.”

The safety committee said it was continuing to gather information about the incident.

“A ground incident at San Antonio International Airport (SAT) resulted in the death of an airline ground crew member Friday night,” spokeswoman Erin Rodriguez said.

“We are deeply saddened by this incident and are working with the authorities to begin an investigation. We will share more information as details become available.”

Delta said it was “heartbroken” by the loss.

A Delta spokesperson told CNN in an email: “In San Antonio, we are heartbroken and saddened by the loss of the life of an airline family member.
