dubai [UAE]24 June (ANI/WAM): The Emirates Genome Project (EGP), one of the world’s largest population genomics programmes, has announced that it is strengthening its presence across the country with a new visual identity.

EGP, under the oversight of the UAE Genome Council, is a key project under the National Genome Strategy and will support the transformation of healthcare delivery in the UAE by providing high-quality data, enabling researchers, doctors and scientists to identify the causes of genetic diseases and understand Types of genetic mutations to predict susceptibility to certain diseases and create effective health care plans.

The program is implemented in partnership with M42 company G42 Healthcare and in coordination with healthcare regulators including the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), UAE Health Services, Abu Dhabi Department of Health, Dubai Health Authority and Dubai Academic Health Company and Academic , medical and other institutions provide support to the program.

To date, EGP has analyzed the data of more than 440,000 citizens using the latest full sequencing and artificial intelligence technologies. The program is targeting one million genetic samples from UAE citizens.

The EGP continues to invite Emiratis to participate in the program by simply bringing their Emirates ID to one of the more than 100 sample collection points in the UAE and providing an 8ml adult blood sample, or two swabs from within the UAE.
