DUBAI – Citizens of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Azerbaijan no longer need a visa to travel between the two countries, much to the relief of globetrotters.
The development comes as the two countries agree to exempt each other from visas. An agreement in this regard came into force on 8 July, allowing stays of up to 90 days.
The UAE embassy in Baku confirmed the visa-free regime on Twitter, lauding the “wise leadership and outstanding relationship between the UAE and Azerbaijan” that led to the agreement.
Previously, tourists from the UAE needed to obtain a visa at the embassy in Baku or the consulate general in the UAE.
A perfect blend of modernity and tradition, the UAE (United Arab Emirates) lures visitors with its futuristic skyline, luxurious shopping and world-class attractions like Burj Khalifa and Palm Jumeirah. With its rich cultural heritage and pristine desert landscape, it offers a wide variety of experiences, from exhilarating dune sprints to indulging in delicious Middle Eastern cuisine.
Nestled between Europe and Asia, Azerbaijan, on the other hand, lures tourists with architectural marvels like the Flame Towers, UNESCO World Heritage monuments like the Baku City Walls, and stunning vistas of the Caucasus Mountains. This country of contrasts blends old world charm with modern development, making it a unique destination for cultural exploration and natural beauty.
