Hamdan bin Zayed Enhances Sila and Al Fayiyi Island Maritimes

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra, inaugurated Sila Community Harbour and Al Fayiyi Island Marina today, part of the Department of Municipalities and Transport’s marina development initiative executed by Abu Dhabi Maritime, a division of AD Ports Group. These projects are integral to the Al Dhafra master development plan overseen by H.H., aiming to bolster the local maritime community by generating employment and preserving heritage.

The inauguration was attended by key figures, including Ahmed Matar Al Dhaheri, Nasser Mohammed Al Mansouri, Captain Mohammed Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Abdullah Al Hameli, Captain Ammar Al Shaiba, Saif Al Mazrouei, Mohamad Ali Al Mansouri, Brigadier Hamdan Saif Al Mansouri, Hamad Khamis Al Mansouri, Matar Al Shamsi, and Saif Al Muhairi.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed toured Sila Community Harbour, which now accommodates 64 boats and vessels, along with various facilities. He was also briefed on Al Fayiyi Island Marina, designed for safe access to and from the island.

Sheikh Hamdan praised the leadership’s commitment to Al Dhafra’s development and AD Ports Group’s role in advancing Abu Dhabi’s global standing in business and investment.

He stated, “Today’s inaugurations mark an important milestone in enhancing the commercial, economic, maritime and logistical capabilities of the Al Dhafra Region, elevating its position as a distinguished maritime destination. These development projects contribute to strengthening the local fishing sector and advancing a sustainable maritime community, but they also significantly promote economic diversification and create new investment opportunities in the UAE and the region.”

Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, emphasized the positive impact of these projects on residents’ quality of life and mobility in the Al Dhafra Region.

Falah Al Ahbabi, Chairman of AD Ports Group, expressed gratitude for H.H. Sheikh Hamdan’s support and highlighted the Group’s dedication to the comprehensive development of the region.

Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports Group, reiterated the commitment to enhancing the maritime infrastructure of Al Dhafra.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan also conducted an inspection tour of Marawah Island and directed a study for its marina development. He visited a resident on Marawah Island, fostering connections between leadership and citizens.
