ERC Unveils Sustainable Green Zone in Emirati-Jordanian Refugee Camp at Mraijib Al Fhood

The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) inaugurated a green zone at the Emirati-Jordanian refugee camp in Mraijib Al Fhood in an official ceremony attended by prominent figures.

Eco-Friendly Housing Units Manufactured in the UAE

The green zone includes uniquely designed, eco-friendly housing units that were entirely manufactured in the UAE. These units utilized sustainable materials and were constructed with support from First Abu Dhabi Bank and logistical facilitation by Aramex.

A Symbolic Gesture and New Beginnings

Sheikha Shamma planted an olive tree within the camp, symbolizing hope and the start of a sustainable journey. She also handed over keys to young Syrian couples, marking a new phase of growth.

Exploring Camp Amenities and Showcasing Talent

During her visit, Sheikha Shamma explored the camp’s amenities, including its cultural complex. Children at the camp showcased their talents through folk performances.

Acting Secretary-General of the ERC, Hamoud Abdullah Al Junaibi, emphasized the ERC’s focus on sustainability, the benefits of the housing units, and their contribution to sustainable development.
