AD Ports Group Acquisition: Abu Dhabi Investor Moves to Take Full Control
Abu Dhabi sovereign investor L’IMAD has moved to acquire up to 100% of AD Ports Group, in a deal that could bring the major UAE ports and logistics company fully under Abu Dhabi’s sovereign investment structure.
L’IMAD plans to make a voluntary conditional cash offer for the shares in AD Ports Group that it does not already own. AD Ports Group is currently 75.42% owned by ADQ, which operates under L’IMAD.
The proposed offer is reported at Dh6.25 per share, giving minority shareholders the opportunity to sell their holdings for cash. If the offer receives the required approvals and all remaining shares are acquired, ownership would rise to 100%.
The AD Ports Group acquisition comes as the company continues to expand its international ports, shipping and logistics operations. The group operates across more than 50 countries and has built a broad portfolio covering ports, maritime services, logistics, economic zones and digital trade services.
AD Ports Group has also continued investing in international infrastructure. Its 2026 plans include major port and logistics developments, while its recent expansion has included projects in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe.
The proposed transaction remains subject to the required regulatory and shareholder procedures. Further details on the offer timetable and conditions are expected through official market disclosures.
If completed, the deal would give Abu Dhabi even greater control over one of its key trade and logistics assets.
