Indian Passport UAE: Walk-In Service Available for Four Categories

Indian nationals in the UAE now have a new system for applying for passports and other consular services, with 16 Indian Consular Application Centres (ICACs) operating across the country.

The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi confirmed that Al Hind Tours & Travels took over outsourced Indian consular, passport, visa and attestation services from July 22, 2026. The new centres replaced the previous application arrangements at the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai.

Most applicants need to book an appointment online. New appointment slots are released at 9am and 9pm daily, while the centres operate from 8am to 6pm. Applicants can enter only 15 minutes before their scheduled appointment.

Who Can Use the Walk-In Service?

Not everyone needs an appointment. Walk-in applications are available at all 16 centres for four categories:

  • Tatkal passport applications
  • Newborn passport cases
  • Emergency Certificates
  • Applicants aged 60 and above

These applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Other applicants should book an appointment before visiting a centre.

Where Can Indian Expats Apply?

The 16 ICACs are spread across all seven emirates, giving Indian residents access to services closer to where they live.

The centres handle passport applications along with visa, attestation and other consular services. Applicants can book appointments through the official online portal used for Indian consular services in the UAE.

Al Hind charges a Dh19 service fee, including VAT, in addition to the applicable Government of India fees. The service charge covers related support such as form filling, photographs, typing, photocopies, printouts and domestic courier services.

The new system is expected to make Indian passport UAE services easier to access for the country’s large Indian expatriate community, while giving eligible applicants a walk-in option for urgent or specific cases.
