Dubai Weather Today: Temperatures Drop as Winds Strengthen
Dubai residents can expect a change in the weather on Thursday, August 20, as temperatures begin to ease after several days of intense summer heat.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), fresh north-westerly winds are expected to affect the UAE from Thursday. The change could bring temperatures down by around 4°C to 5°C.
In Dubai, the forecast points to a high of around 39°C, with fair to partly cloudy conditions. Winds will be light to moderate but may become stronger in some areas, reaching around 40 km/h. Blowing dust could reduce visibility at times.
Humidity is also expected to increase, particularly later in the day. Coastal areas could see mist or fog develop as conditions change.
The weather shift does not mean Dubai’s summer heat is over. Temperatures will remain high, and residents should still take care when spending long periods outdoors.
For drivers, stronger winds and blowing dust could make visibility more difficult in some areas. Motorists are advised to drive carefully if dusty conditions develop.
The change comes as the UAE moves toward a gradual seasonal transition. The appearance of the Suhail star later this month is also traditionally viewed as a sign that the most intense summer heat will slowly begin to ease.
