An Emirati media professional said that the media industry is one of the most important main engines in the UAE’s economic and development strategy and vision, keeping pace with rapid development through the industry’s young capabilities and creative media talents.
Speaking at the Global Media Conference in Abu Dhabi, Mona Ghanem Al Marri, vice-chairman and managing director of the Dubai Media Council and director of the Dubai Government Media Office, said the UAE government is providing various forms of support such as training, infrastructure and many educational programs , to motivate young people to become professionals and create good media content.
“Arab media faces many challenges and needs to be united and integrated in a clear way to foresee the future,” she stressed, emphasizing that the UAE government has established cornerstones to find Emirati and Arab cadres to lead this important and vital sector.
She noted that the UAE has been providing all necessary support to the Arab media sector, not just local media.

“All government initiatives in all sectors, including the media, since the founding of the UAE, have been proactive, making an impact in the current era and extending to future generations,” she said.
The media source said that the UAE has become a model for dissemination of knowledge and exchange of experience, which is very important to the Arab region and also extends to other countries in the world. The country has always sought progress and prosperity in global competition, she said.
Al Marri noted that the Global Media Congress is a creative platform for media talent and an opportunity for Arab and international minds to meet.
Monica Mutsvangwa, Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting of the Republic of Zimbabwe, also confirmed that the media industry is currently the main driver of sustainable social development.
“The Global Media Congress is an important global beacon through which we review our vision for the future and our aspirations for growth. To strengthen the unity of our societies and work together for prosperity, progress and growth,” she said.
She added: “Traditional media faces many challenges and is struggling to survive. The Global Media Conference gives us an opportunity to discuss this important issue, exchange ideas and do something like brainstorming to protect the world’s media industry and develop a forward-looking vision for its development. Vision.”
