For his part, Cavusoglu reiterated Turkey’s expectation that the decision be overturned and stressed the importance of coordinated efforts in this regard, especially through the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
During the call, the ministers also reiterated their condemnation of the Israeli minister’s attack on the al-Aqsa mosque yesterday.
They stressed the importance of upholding the status and sanctity of Jerusalem’s holy sites and strengthening coordination to combat such unacceptable practices. They also discussed the need for full protection of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and an end to the serious and provocative violations taking place there, and called on the Israeli authorities to take responsibility for reducing escalation and instability in the region.
Ministers concluded by discussing issues related to the bilateral agenda.
