Four Australians compete in F4 in UAE

Jack Beeton (top left), Noah Lisle (top right), James Piszcyk (bottom left) and James Wharton (bottom right) will compete in Dubai this weekend.

Four Australians will take part in this weekend’s season opener in the United Arab Emirates’ Formula 4 Championship.

Jack Beeton, Noah Lisle, James Piszcyk and James Wharton have all confirmed they will start the first round of the three races in Dubai on January 14-15.

The quartet had a busy time leading up to the championship game. Wharton remains a member of the prestigious Ferrari Driver Academy and will compete in the European Championship later this year, while Beaton and Pizzeker recently participated in the Australian Motorsports Ferrari Driver Academy selection program in Malaysia late last year. . Beeton competed in the Scout World Finals in Italy, but narrowly missed being selected by the FDA.

All four have recently taken preseason Tests, with Wharton finishing the final test second-quickest, Lyle finishing the weekend in 21st, Pittsek 24th, Beaton Ranked 35th.

The compact 2023 F4 UAE Championship will be held over five rounds, two in Dubai, two in Kuwait and one at the Yas Marina Formula 1 Circuit in Abu Dhabi, with the finale taking place on 18-19 February.

Walton, who previously competed in the UAE Championship in 2022, said he was looking forward to returning to the UAE as he prepares for a major race abroad in 2023 and as a Ferrari Academy driver.

“I’m delighted to announce my return to the Emirates Formula 4 Championship,” Wharton said on Instagram.

“Racing the @mumbaifalcons, I had some very strong rounds last year. Can’t wait to see what we can do as a team in 2023. Excited to be back and can’t wait to fully prepare for my European season.”

Piszcyk will race the Hitech GP in the UAE with the team leading his British Formula 4 Championship later this year.

“This is a great opportunity for me to join the championship-winning Hitech GP racing team,” said Piszcyk.

“It will be great to race and challenge yourself against the best young drivers across Europe. I am excited to start a new chapter in F4 racing in Europe.”

Toparis will use the series as his warm-up for the GB3 Championship with Carlin, while Beeton will join Pinnacle Motorsport and Van Amersfoort Racing.

Round 2: January 27-28 – Kuwait Motor City
Round 3: January 31 – February 1 – Kuwait Motor City
Round 4: 11-12 February – Dubai Autodrome
Round 5: 18-19 February – Yas Marina, Abu Dhabi
