ABU DHABI – The United Arab Emirates has announced that it will allocate AED 1.83 million in partnership with Nadia Murad’s Initiative to implement the second phase of the integrated development project to provide water and sanitation in the Sinjar region of Iraq.
Sultan Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for International Development, said: “The UAE is working to support all stabilization projects in areas affected by the terrorist group Daesh’s attacks in the Sinjar region of Iraq by providing provide basic services to the most vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly and the elderly.”
He added: “Our aim is to improve water supply and sanitation for residents of nine additional villages in the Sinjar region of Iraq through the second phase of the project. The signing of the agreement follows the success of the first phase of the project, which The project successfully delivered clean water and sanitation to six villages in the Sinjar district, benefiting more than 81,000 people.”
