Freshcraft launches innovative gadgets in Dubai to make indoors safer – News

Amid a report by the World Health Organization (WHO) that air pollution is one of the top health hazards, a Cochin-based startup has launched a smart safety device that ensures indoor air and surface quality. Freshcraft Technologies launched ‘Tenshield’ at an event in Dubai, where the one-year-old company also released a logo and video of the innovative product in the presence of senior UAE industrialists and officials.

At the event, Freshcraft also handed over three versions of its Tenshield to the startup’s first relevant customers. Tenshield disperses plasma-mediated ions into the surrounding environment, creating a barrier against a variety of airborne and surface-borne diseases. The product significantly neutralizes all pathogens in real time, thereby improving indoor safety by significantly reducing ambient particulate matter and other harmful organic compounds.

The event was attended by Vineeth Kumar Mettayil, CEO, Freshcraft, along with Dr. Sohan Roy, Founder, Chairman & CEO, Aries Group of Companies, Vimal Manchanda, COO, Samvardhana Motherson Health Solution, and Satheesh Nair, Head of Amazon Sourcing (Middle East) .

Mettayil said: “The need to control the worrying indoor pollution and the health problems it causes led us to launch Tenshield after the launch of the Dusit Thani resort. In addition to the Tenshield Go, we have two other innovative products: the 3,000 cubic foot Tenshield Atom and 10,000 cubic feet of Tenshield Sky.”

“There aren’t many products on the market that can truly protect the environment in our work facilities. So this innovation can improve and ensure a safer work environment,” Nair said.

The performance of Tenshield has been tested in several international laboratories, including the Dubai Central Laboratory Department under the Dubai Municipality; CB and CE tests of Hong Kong Intertek Group; CSIR-NPL, Delhi; and CSIR-NIPER (Biocompatibility sex studies).

Launched in September 2021, Freshcraft is incubated by Kerala State Entrepreneurial Mission (KSUM), led by a group of socially responsible individuals who aim to provide a better life through advanced technology. Motherson Group is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of automotive components and its equipment is produced in its ISO 13485 certified factories.

The company, which is also registered with Maker Village, has applied for a design patent for its technology and design, as the startup is being incubated in NECTAR, an autonomous agency under the federal government’s Ministry of Science and Technology.

Freshcraft has received orders from all over the world. “Increasing demand prompted us to expand our workspace and open offices in Dubai and the US,” says Mettayil. “We are looking forward to working with key channel partners and distributors in the Middle East and Europe. In addition, we are planning to expand our market to other countries and launch a wide range of products.”

Freshcraft started as a voluntary group during the 2015 Chennai floods and continued its services during the Kerala floods three years later.

KSUM is the Kerala Government’s nodal agency for entrepreneurship development and incubation activities in the state.
