Lahore [Pakistan]March 13 (ANI): Lahore police on Monday registered former prime minister and head of the Pakistan Justice Institution (PTI) Imran Khan in a case involving The death of a party activist.

Lahore police called the death of PTI worker Ali Bilal alias Zil-e-Shah a traffic accident. The vehicle that hit Bilal belonged to a private company and the government held Imran Khan responsible for the accident.

According to ARY News, Khan and other PTI leaders including Yasmin Rashid were charged with concealing facts and evidence about Bilal’s death.

According to the FIR, the police opened a case based on the statements of the accused, who took Bilal to the hospital and later fled after learning of Bilal’s death.

Meanwhile, PTI claimed that Bilal died from police violence and torture, after staff cracked down on party workers and supporters protesting near the residence of PTI chairman Imran Khan in Zaman Park on Wednesday.

Imran slammed Punjab police brutality and the “incarceration murder” of his supporters, saying the actions of the Punjab caretaker government were tantamount to “blocking democracy”.

Imran reacted strongly to the incident, saying, “Ali Bilal was unarmed and our dedicated and passionate PTI staff were killed by Punjab Police.”

“Shameful is this brutality against unarmed PTI workers who came to an election rally. Pakistan is in the hands of murderous criminals. We will prosecute IG, CCPO and others for murder,” he added.

Khan on Saturday criticized Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Muhsinakvi and Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Usman Anwar for calling the PTI worker’s death a “case of accident”, the Express Tribune reported.

The PTI chairman lashed out at Naqvi and Anwar using his official Twitter handle.

He tweeted: “In any civilized country, these two shameless people would go to jail for not only lying so blatantly, but for insulting the intelligence of our country. All the same dangerous thing that happens when a dumbass takes over. As dumb as they are.” (Arnie)
