UAE Greece Partnership Expands With New Talks On AI And Energy
The UAE Greece partnership took another step forward this week after President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a phone call with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to discuss deeper cooperation across several key sectors.
The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership already in place between the two nations.
Topics on the agenda included the economy, artificial intelligence, technology and renewable energy, building on agreements the two countries exchanged during Mitsotakis‘ working visit to Abu Dhabi in May.
During that visit, officials from both sides witnessed the signing of new cooperation agreements covering AI and technology, signed by UAE Minister Dr Sultan Al Jaber and Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis.
The call also touched on regional and international developments, with both leaders exchanging views on the situation in the Middle East and reaffirming their shared interest in promoting security and stability across the region.
The conversation follows a second round of political consultations between UAE and Greek delegations held in Athens on July 21, which focused on expanding cooperation in political, economic and strategic areas.
Officials from both countries say the relationship continues to grow beyond trade, with Greece also expressing support for the UAE’s ongoing efforts to finalise a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement with the European Union.
