Amazon opens new fulfillment center in Dubai South

Amazon opened its latest fulfillment center in the UAE, increasing its total storage capacity in the country by 70%.

Located in the logistics district of Dubai South, the facility provides efficient service, speed, operations and uninterrupted access to Jebel Ali Port and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC).

Following the inauguration, Amazon Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Vice President Ronaldo Mouchawar, Amazon MENA Director of Operations Prashant Saran and Director of Public Policy and Government Zeina El Kaissi gave VIPs a tour of the facility for Amazon MENA.

The new operations center has a storage capacity of 2.1 million cubic feet. The investment will allow Amazon to offer customers a wider selection of products spanning electronics, appliances, groceries, fashion, books and more as the company prepares for increased customer demand during Ramadan.

The new facility will offer innovative solutions for its operations, with nearly three kilometers of transport equipment, spread over five floors and occupying more than 350,000 square feet.

Supporting Dubai and the UAE’s digital economy agenda, the enhanced capabilities will provide entrepreneurs and small and medium businesses (SMBs) with access to Amazon’s fulfillment capabilities and world-class logistics expertise. To reach a broader customer base faster and more efficiently, SMBs can take advantage of the Fulfillment by Amazon product, which enables them to store, pick, pack, and ship customer orders through Amazon.

The company recently announced a commitment to host the products of 100,000 businesses, including local SMEs, on its UAE-based site, Amazon.ae, by 2026 in support of Dubai’s economic agenda D33, making Dubai a global digital economy.
