Abu Dhabi Police urged motorists to refrain from speeding and obey traffic rules when driving home before iftar time ends their fast.

March 23 is the first day of Ramadan in the UAE.

In a tweet on Thursday, police warned motorists not to break traffic laws and to step up safety, advising road users to obey the prescribed speed limits, give priority to pedestrians and not run red lights.

Many motorists have been known to speed when trying to get back to their homes before breaking the fast. This can cause them to have accidents.
