Ansarallah launches major offensive against UAE-backed forces in Marib and Shabwah

[ad_1]

YemenOn the night of March 26, the Ansara resistance launched a massive offensive against Emirati-backed mercenaries belonging to the Giant Brigade faction in Marib and Shabwa provinces, resulting in the Ansara group taking over several strongholds in these areas.

The conflict between them has been going on since last week. On Tuesday, March 21, intense fighting between the Ansara movement and the Giants Brigade left 19 dead and several others wounded.

Local journalist Nawaf Hamad Nasser said late Sunday that “the situation in the Markha area of Shabwah and the Harib area of Marib favored the Houthis … positions were handed over without fighting.”

By the early morning hours of Monday, 27 March, fighting was still going on in Ma’rib governorate.

At around 3.20am, another local source said that “now, forces from Sana’a are launching a heavy attack on the Giants’ positions…in the Harib area of Malibu province”.

It comes just days after an officer of the Saudi-backed Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) survived a March 25 assassination attempt.his convoy was hit drone attack in the southwestern province of Taiz. PLC immediately placed the blame on Ansarallah.

In a statement released on March 26, Rashad al-Alimi, president of the Saudi-backed government, blamed Ansara for the drone attack and escalating tensions in Marib and Shabwa. Ansarallah has yet to comment on the drone incident.

“The group’s escalation in Malibu and Shabwa provinces, as well as the attempted terrorist attack in Taiz province, reflect the dire state this terrorist group has reached in terms of its hostility to peace efforts and evasion of responsibility,” Ali said. m said.

The clashes in Taiz and the recent drone strike show a sudden resumption of military escalation after a long period of relative calm.

An understanding was reached between Saudi Arabia and the Ansara coalition under Oman-led mediation, and recent reports suggest the ceasefire may be renewed during Ramadan.

Despite these positives, and Saudi Arabia’s recent demonstration of a willingness to end the war, complications remain over Washington’s and Abu Dhabi’s positions in the conflict.According to an exclusive report cradle Written by a Lebanese journalist Hassan ElekAmerica and United Arab Emirates “Frantic attempt to undermine” the understanding reached between Saudi Arabia and the Ansara coalition to “prevent a resolution of the war in Yemen”.

In particular, the UAE has illegally occupied several strategic islands off the coast of Yemen, including Socotra and Ma Yun. The islands are being transformed into joint UAE-Israeli military and intelligence centers.

According to another exclusive report cradle, There is an expansionist UAE plan to build a “maritime empire” in Yemeni waters by occupying the islands. The UAE plan complicates the peace process.

“The question now is whether there will be a peace agreement between Saudi Arabia and Ansarallah that excludes the UAE and its Yemeni proxies. If that happens, Sana’a’s armed forces will almost certainly turn their cannons on The quasi-Emiratis… Riyadh is unlikely to provide aid to Abu Dhabi in this case. Their common goal in Yemen ended years ago.”
