ADJD’s Abu Dhabi Legal and Community Awareness ‘Masouleya’ Center Launches Campaign

Abu Dhabi Legal and Community Awareness Center ‘Masouleya’ has launched an expanded awareness campaign aimed at reducing damage to the country’s reputation, its data and institutions over a period of about 3 months with the title: “Your Freedom The Restricted Law aims to raise community awareness of the importance and methods of constructive criticism and introduce legal penalties in the fight against rumours, and cybercrime, as enshrined in Federal Decree No. 34 of 2021.

The launch of such campaigns is in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Courts and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Justice, to raise community awareness and address negative behavior and phenomena , in order to support the maintenance of social security and stability.

The campaign aims to provide legal awareness in an innovative way to target groups such as university students, government and private sector employees, and parents by diversifying educational means and utilizing modern technology to deliver educational materials through various media platforms. Broadcasting of television programs and news reports, with a focus on the use of social media platforms as they spread widely among all sectors of society, through the production of audiovisual and electronic materials such as educational films, radio programs and electronic videos, in addition to the publication of a large number of educational leaflets.

The campaign will also include the publication of a range of stories and facts presented in court with the aim of drawing lessons from them, as well as direct lectures that the Center will organize for university students, schools, staff and parents, as well as lectures at the Council (Majalis) , with the aim of raising awareness of self-censorship frameworks and a passion for choosing appropriate and appropriate words, language and expressions in digital applications or in public discourse.

In addition, the campaign aims to educate the target audience on the rules for filing complaints with government agencies, the importance of creating a positive culture through channels allocated for this through appropriate expression and constructive criticism, and the risks of spreading abuse of power in the virtual world, by considering The magnitude of the negative impact of ill-conceived social media posts, and the proper way to file complaints and not resort to social media as a tool to pressure entities or individuals to achieve anything other than introducing them to fight rumours, and electronic crimes, boosts ADJD image and popularize legal awareness.
