ABU DHABI, 26th April, 2023 (WAM) — TRENDS Research and Advisory and the UAE Fatwa Council have signed a mutual cooperation agreement to research and exchange expertise, promote both parties’ results with a forward-looking academic approach, and strengthen Cooperation in tackling extremism, hatred and intolerance.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Omar Habtour Al Darai, Director General, UAE Fatwa Council, and Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO, TRENDS Research and Advisory, while Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah, Chairman, UAE Fatwa Council, was present at the event.
The agreement provides for the exchange of expertise between the parties in research, publications, surveys, seminars and joint activities, as well as the coordination of efforts to strengthen the values ​​of knowledge, tolerance, giving and human fraternity.
Dr. Al Darai emphasized that the agreement is in line with the Council’s strategy of building strategic partnerships around the world and is consistent with the Council’s efforts to build partnerships to deliver fatwas in a modern way that promotes virtue, tolerance, moderation and open.
Dr Al Ali praised the committee’s role in addressing and correcting misconceptions and praised its comprehensive knowledge programme.
He also added that the agreement is in line with TRENDS’ approach of expanding its network of relationships under the framework of using scientific research results to serve and develop the community.
