Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC) inspected and audited 26,214 products in the Abu Dhabi market in the first quarter of 2023, including 24,091 during on-site inspections and 2,123 on online sales platforms .
The QCC released a report on the commission’s consumer and market services sector performance indicators, saying it verified 4,896 measuring instruments and 312 product packages covering 7,800 commodities during the period.
Two products that had been withdrawn from international markets were recalled from the Abu Dhabi market and three products were corrected in inspections of a total of 1,456 commodities, the report said.
Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Executive Director of Consumer and Market Services, said that the QCC is committed to ensuring the safety of products traded in the market, which is achieved by monitoring the compliance of products with relevant norms and technical regulations during the committee’s sampling inspections. laboratory.
According to the control plan of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, a pre-packaged Ramadan product promotion campaign was carried out in 13 markets in Abu Dhabi from March 21 to 24, including more than six in Abu Dhabi, four in Al Ain, three In Al Dhafra. This activity verifies the quantity of pre-packaged product and its compliance with specifications. The campaign also includes verification of approved legal units of measurement.
