Addiction House Partners with Campanario Entertainment for Film, TV

Los Angeles based campanario entertainment Strategic partnership with shingle Addiction House in Mexico City following the success of the Prime Video series “How to Survive Single” (“How to Survive Single”).

The agreement calls for the co-development and production of five scripted and unscripted projects in English and Spanish, starting with a TV series and a novel.

Campanario Entertainment Co-Founder and President Jaime Dávila and Senior Vice President Diana Mejia-Jones will team up with Addiction House co-founders/brothers Sebastian and Emiliano Zurita and their partner Ricardo Gaspar to produce a show that promises to grow beyond its natural market. Their first scripted projects included the bank robbery film “How to Rob a Bank” and a TV series about magicians, “Conjuring”.

Created by Alex Suarez (“Spell”), How to Rob a Bank follows a talented out-of-work actor who robs a bank with a band of unsuspecting industry hopefuls in order to lure Hollywood Indiscreet planning of attention.

Co-created by the Zurita Brothers, the comedy series “Magic” tells the story of six amateur magicians who come together to form the star magicians content house. However, only one of them will be able to take over the workshop and its secrets.

How to Survive Being Single, starring Sebastian, was written, directed, co-written and co-produced by Zuritas. Sony Pictures, which handles international sales, is also a co-producer. It’s Prime Video’s first original Spanish-language scripted comedy series and has an unprecedented worldwide distribution.

Campanario’s credits include the Netflix biographical series “Selena: The Series,” the Telemundo and Netflix series “Camelia La Texana,” and the TV series starring Sergio Aguero and Steven Spielberg. Amblin TV co-produced the hit Red Band Society.

The new production alliance comes amid an increasingly crowded Mexican market, with Netflix and other major companies snapping up talent, crew and equipment as they set up production hubs in the country.

Given the growing competition, the pressure to produce shows with broad global appeal is growing.
