Abu Dhabi ADX Tokenised Assets: Exchange Expands Digital Trading Infrastructure
The Abu Dhabi ADX Tokenised Assets initiative is moving forward as the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) develops new infrastructure for digital assets and blockchain-based financial products.
ADX Group has signed an agreement with digital asset technology company DFNS to introduce digital wallet infrastructure and tokenisation capabilities. The partnership is designed to support the future issuance, listing and trading of digital assets on the exchange.
The move is part of ADX’s wider digital assets strategy and follows earlier work involving digitally native bonds and tokenised equities.
What Tokenisation Means for ADX?
Tokenisation involves creating a digital representation of an asset using blockchain technology. Financial instruments such as shares and bonds can be represented digitally, allowing them to be issued, held and transferred through on-chain systems.
ADX said the new infrastructure could eventually support a wider range of on-chain products and services.
DFNS provides digital wallet technology for banks, fintech companies and other businesses. Its infrastructure supports operations across more than 30 blockchains and 1,000 tokens, according to the companies.
ADX Builds on Digital Bond Work
The latest development follows ADX’s earlier digital bond initiative. In 2025, ADX partnered with First Abu Dhabi Bank and HSBC to facilitate what ADX described as the first blockchain-based digital bond in the Middle East and North Africa.
The new DFNS partnership is intended to provide the wallet and tokenisation infrastructure needed for additional digital financial products.
ADX said the development will focus on security, governance and investor confidence as it expands its digital asset capabilities.
The initiative adds another digital-finance layer to Abu Dhabi’s capital markets as ADX expands its range of traditional and technology-based investment products.
