The validity of the Abu Dhabi Golden Visa has been increased from 5 years to 10 years for all categories, the authorities announced.

The Golden Visa, now valid for ten years, offers a wide range of residency options for professionals and researchers in the fields of science and knowledge, including doctors, specialists, scientists and inventors, said Mark Dorzi, Director of Operations at the Abu Dhabi Residential Office.

He noted that holders of golden visas can sponsor their spouses, children and parents regardless of age, with new main categories and subcategories added following recommendations from relevant offices such as the Abu Dhabi Residents’ Office.

The Abu Dhabi Resident’s Office said the UAE government had earlier launched the Golden Residence Scheme, which aims to provide long-term residence permits, giving holders the opportunity to live in the country without the need for a sponsor.

Abu Dhabi is home to many high-growth industries such as creative industries, research and development, healthcare, agriculture and financial services, as well as a thriving start-up ecosystem.

The Abu Dhabi Golden Visa offers long-term residency for investors and innovators.

The long-term visa is for top talent from around the world who wish to live, work and grow in Abu Dhabi for the next few years. The Abu Dhabi Golden Visa offers a wide range of visa options for talented professionals such as doctors, scientists, inventors, real estate investors, entrepreneurs, athletes and creatives.

Exclusive benefits for Golden Visa holders include: a 6-month multiple-entry visa upon completion of the Golden Visa process, and a renewable 5- or 10-year residence visa.

Golden visa holders can also stay outside the UAE for more than 6 months and are entitled to residence permits for family members including husband and children.

The maximum number of supported service workers that can be brought to the UAE is lifted, and family members can remain in the country for the duration of their stay, even if the sponsor holding a golden visa dies.
