The program will stimulate the UAE’s research ecosystem, empowering a new generation of academics…
Drive Emirate’s Efforts to Protect and Promote National Heritage, Stunning Zayed National Museum, has announced a generous grant of Dh1 million per year to support research into the country’s culture and history. Currently under construction on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, the museum will continue to build on the legacy of the late His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Founding Father of the UAE.
The palatial development’s stunning wing structure design represents the Falcon – representing Abu Dhabi’s huge global ambitions.
The museum will also serve as a cultural center with funding aimed at encouraging researchers to explore and share the UAE’s history, heritage, archeology and the late Sheikh Zayed’s role in driving social, cultural and economic impact.
Notably, the grant will also focus on the UAE’s engagement with key regional players from prehistoric to modern times.
If you are researching any of the above, you have until July 15 to submit an application for review, which will be evaluated on criteria such as research methodology, experience, output, and relevance to the museum’s mission. Grants will be announced in September, with funding renewable until 2026.
The initiative highlights the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism’s commitment to preserving the UAE’s culture, history and heritage, while educating the public about the profound impact of the late Sheikh Zayed on the country’s progress and development, enabling future generations to inherit his immortality heritage.
