Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha had lunch with some of his closest filmmaker friends: Anuragka SharpHansal Mehta, Sudhir Mishra, Ketan Mehta and Subhash Kapoor.
The filmmaker, known for acclaimed social dramas like Mulk, Article 15 and Thappad, posted a group photo on Instagram and wrote that he would never “reconsider” his film if it weren’t for them.
“Today we met at lunch. Had a little beer, had a little food, watched a movie and chatted. See you soon. If I didn’t have all of these in my life, I would never be able to reconsider my movies,” Sinha Written in Hindi.
Sinha’s post drew comments from fans and film industry entertainers. Actor Huma Qureshi wrote “OMG” with a flame emoji, while actors Shreya Dhanwanthary and Sayani Gupta dropped hearts.
Social media users were delighted with the photo and praised all the “legends” for getting together. “Avengers assembled in India this week,” wrote one user. Another added that the filmmakers should now also lock the script because “saara midas touch ek baar milega”.
Sinha ended up directing Anek, starring Ayushman Khurana. The 2022 action thriller exploring the conflict in the Northeast opened to mixed reviews and flopped at the box office. Sinha is now preparing to release his work “Falazi”. Faraz stars Jahan Kapoor and Aditya Rawal and is directed by Hansar Mehta. Sinha earlier called Faraz a “story that needs to be told”.
“Hansall does justice to the story of a cataclysmic event that shook the world. It is the story of a hero who made courageous choices and celebrates the spirit of a young boy who stood up for the one he loved,” Sinha said in a statement.
