Depeche Mode have announced their first album and tour since the death of band member Andy ‘Fletch’ Fletcher.

Dave Gahan and Martin Gore have vowed to honor a co-founding member of Enjoy the Silence – who died in June at the age of 60 – by completing their upcoming LP, “Memento Mori,” due next spring.

The pair will also embark on a North American tour that includes stops at Madison Square Garden in New York, the United Center in Chicago, the Kia Forum in Los Angeles and the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto in March 2023, and Twickner in London on June 17 The game is played at the Mu Stadium as part of that. Supports recorded European excursions.

Speaking of the album, Martin, 61, commented: “We started this project early in the pandemic and its themes were directly inspired by that time. After Fletch’s death, we decided to continue because we were convinced that That’s what he wanted, and it really gave the project extra meaning.”

Dave, 60, added: “Fletcher will love this album. We’re really looking forward to sharing it with you soon, and we can’t wait to show it to you at next year’s show.”

This will be their first tour since the ‘Global Spirit Tour’ in 2017 and 2018 in support of their chart-topping LP ‘Spirit’.

Dave and Martin thanked fans for their “love” for the musician during this “weird, sad, disorienting” time.

They wrote: “We wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the love for Andy that we’ve seen from all of you over the past few weeks.

“Seeing all your photos, reading your writing, seeing what Andy means to all of you, is incredible.

“As you can imagine, it has been a strange, sad, disorienting few weeks for us, to say the least.

“But we’ve seen and felt all your love and support, and we know Andy’s family has the same.”

The pair confirmed his cause of death, revealing that Fletcher suffered an aortic dissection, tearing a large blood vessel in his heart, and died “of course”.

They added: “We received the medical examiner’s results a few weeks ago and Andy’s family asked us to share with you now. Andy suffered an aortic dissection at home on May 26. So, although it’s too early , but he passed away naturally and without suffering for a long time.

‘Memento Mori Tour’ tickets will go on general sale Friday, October 7th at 10am via Live Nation, full dates can be found.
