DMCC announces completion of façade work on Dubai skyscraper

[ad_1]

DMCC, the flagship free zone and Dubai government commodity trading and corporate management agency, has announced that the façades of the residential towers have been fully installed, marking a major construction milestone for Dubai’s latest mega-project.

The 340-meter-tall property is the first of two supertall buildings in DMCC’s Uptown Dubai, which will be handed over in the fourth quarter of 2022.

In announcing key construction milestones, DMCC said a total of 8,542 glass panels were successfully installed.

Work on the project began in August 2020 and then steadily progressed to the façade phase after the structural elements were completed earlier this year. During peak installation periods, the team installed an entire floor every two days, equivalent to 70 panels per day.

Using an integrated design and fabrication approach, the conceptualization and installation process of the residential complex’s façade was completed through the use of innovative technologies such as 3D modeling and digital tracking systems, according to the DMCC statement.

By employing innovative building practices, the project has increased efficiency, allowing the façade to be fabricated in accordance with the project schedule.

The project took more than 17 million man-hours and the Uptown Tower façade system was installed without wasting time due to injuries.

It added that this is a testament to the entire project team’s commitment to making sure everyone in the project works safely and that any potential hazards in the project are effectively managed and controlled.

Designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, Uptown Tower’s design replicates the brilliance of diamonds through its faceted glass façade, illuminating interior spaces with natural light while filtering out harsh glare.

It will be a Leed Gold certified building and will be home to the state-of-the-art DMCC headquarters.

It will also feature a 188-room 5-star luxury hotel – “SO/Uptown Dubai” – fine dining restaurants, extensive conference facilities, Class A offices and 229 signature SO/ branded residences.

Commercial office space has received significant market interest, with a significant amount of space pre-leased ahead of completion in the fourth quarter of 2022.-TradeArabia News Service
