Dubai Hotel Prices Surge During September Events

Hotel prices in Dubai are rising sharply this September as a packed calendar of exhibitions and international conferences brings more business travellers and visitors to the city.

Hotels around Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) have recorded some of the biggest increases. A recent price check found that rates at Novotel Dubai World Trade Centre rose from around Dh300 to Dh825, an increase of about 175%.

Ibis Dubai World Trade Centre increased from Dh233 to Dh618, while ibis Dubai One Central rose from Dh200 to Dh484.

Across 15 comparable hotels near the exhibition district, the average displayed room rate increased from approximately Dh372 to Dh689, representing a rise of about 86%.

Why Dubai Hotel Prices Are Rising?

September has brought a busy schedule of events to Dubai, increasing demand for rooms near major venues.

  • International Property Show: September 7–9 at DWTC
  • AIM Congress: September 7–9 at DWTC
  • Dubai Derma: September 8–10 at DWTC
  • Crypto Expo Dubai: September 9–10 at DWTC
  • Arabian Travel Market: September 14–17 at DWTC
  • GISEC Global: September 16–18 at Dubai Exhibition Centre
  • Seamless Middle East: September 22–24 at DWTC

The concentration of major events is particularly affecting hotels in Trade Centre, Sheikh Zayed Road, DIFC and Downtown Dubai, where many exhibitors and visitors prefer to stay close to event venues.

Hotel operators say demand is strengthening as Dubai moves out of the quieter summer period. The city’s continued investment in tourism and its major events calendar are also supporting expectations for stronger demand later in the year.

For travellers planning a Dubai stay this month, booking early and comparing hotels outside the immediate World Trade Centre area could help reduce accommodation costs. Room prices can change depending on availability, dates and booking conditions.
