[ad_1]

Dubai Municipality has launched a 9.7-kilometre hiking trail in Mushrif National Park, the first in Dubai with multiple trails for beginners and professionals.

An 8.3-kilometer yellow recreational track and a 1.4-kilometer orange sports track designed to provide hikers with a safe and secure environment to practice their hobby will open to the public starting June 20.

Ahmed Al Zarooni, Director of Public Parks and Recreation, Dubai Municipality, said: “The mountain trails in the forest of Mushrif National Park offer those who love walking, climbing and adventure a unique opportunity to explore and enjoy a variety of unique facilities”

“In order to continuously improve the attractiveness, aesthetics, quality of life and well-being of all residents and tourists in Dubai, we are developing recreational facilities and parks and equipping them with all leisure facilities and components. To this end, the municipality has worked hard to integrate All amenities and services, including public restrooms, safety instructions and warning signage with directions,” Al Zarooni said.

“The trail will be open all year round and free for tourists and hikers. It further consists of various sculptures, wooden stairs and bridges, ramps and rest areas, providing a comprehensive view of the Mushrif Park landscape and wildlife. To assist hikers and to ensure their safety, administrative and supervisory personnel are also stationed at the track site,” he added.

The municipality has developed various guidelines for tourists and hikers to ensure their safety when using the tracks. These include ensuring that emergency communication methods are available and that climbers carry adequate drinking water and wear appropriate clothing, footwear and hiking safety gear. Additionally, children between the ages of 12 and 15 can use the track when accompanied by an adult.

In addition, the municipality emphasizes that hikers need to follow the trail etiquette and instructions mentioned on the signs to ensure that they safely leave the mountain bike trails and give way to cyclists before crossing the Mushrif Park, always towards the trails and not Go in reverse and stick to the designated track. Additionally, hikers must be careful when choosing the appropriate track grade, as orange tracks are designed for skilled athletes with higher physical fitness and endurance. Also pay attention to warm-up exercises before climbing to ensure safety.

The city government also emphasized that setting fires, cooking, smoking, camping and overnighting in the forest must be avoided after the hike.

Dubai Municipality has previously completed the installation of mountain bike trails, skill areas and a 50km professional track in Mushrif National Park. The skill zone is divided into three tracks – a green track for beginners, a blue track for intermediates and a red track for professional mountain bikers. – trade arab news agency
