Midland Doctors, a UK-based non-profit organization that provides healthcare to those in need, hosted a promotional dinner at the Park Hyatt Dubai on Sunday to showcase its humanitarian work in Pakistan.

Over 380 guests attended the event, with Rahimullah Khan, Head of Embassy, Pakistani Consulate in Dubai, as the Guest of Honour. Also in attendance were prominent figures from the UAE business community and the country’s medical professionals.

The organization has strong support for the quality of its humanitarian work from its trustees headed by Chairman Dr Syed Yusuf Iftikhar; Vice-Chairman Dr Javed Ahmed Raza. The hosts of the event, Dr. Tazyeen Faisal and Faisal Nomani, managed to bring together a crowd from all walks of life to spread awareness about Midland Doctors.

The event culminated with musical performances by violinist Ustad Raees’ son, singer Usman Raees and his bandmates Iqbal Ali, Iqtadar Ali and Farhan Mathew.

Midland Doctors relies on donations to fund its work, and volunteers play a vital role in supporting it as it has minimal overhead. The organization was formed in 2005 by a group of Anglo-Pakistani doctors registered with the UK Charity Commission who were inspired to make a difference after the devastating floods that hit Pakistan that year. Their UAE office is registered with Dubai International Humanitarian City since 2018 and is managed by Dr. Asrar Rashid.

The charity’s work is recognized through close collaboration with the Edhi Foundation, WHO (Centre for Immunization), SOS and the Reed Foundation and APNA (Pakistan Physicians Association of North America).
