Dubai Municipality signs MoU on precious metals testing

Dubai Municipality has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dubai Gold and Jewelry Group to provide precious metal testing services in the new gold market.

This is in line with the guidelines of the Dubai Government to provide services in partnership with the private sector to meet the needs of clients and assist them in their investment activities across a range of economic sectors.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Eng Alia Al Harmoodi, Acting CEO of Dubai Municipality Environment, Health and Safety Authority, and Muhammed Tawfiq Muhammed Taher Abdullah Al Muhtadi, General Manager of Dubai Gold & Jewelery Group.

Al Harmoodi reiterated that the municipality seeks to provide exceptional services to support customers and facilitate current investment activities in the emirate.

She pointed out that all services provided will be in line with international best practices, accurate and efficient, and maintain Dubai’s leading position and reputation in the world.

Al Harmoodi said: “Through the MoU, Dubai Municipality is eager to lay the groundwork for a joint strategic cooperation and intensify our cooperation in the area of ​​precious metal testing and its requirements in the future.”

In addition to regulating existing legal procedures, the city government will use the group’s expertise in the field to strengthen its services in the field, she said.

Gold Pyrolysis Services

Hind Mahmoud Mahaba, Acting Director of Dubai’s Central Laboratory Department, emphasized that under the MoU, the municipality will provide gold pyrolysis services using cutting-edge technological tools created according to international best practices, which are characterized by speed and accuracy.

“Clients, including gold merchants and individuals, will benefit from these procedures as a special location will be reserved in the gold market to receive gold samples and clients will not need to ship samples to the Dubai Central Laboratory in Calama,” she said .

“Clients will be able to obtain test reports from this premium service within one working day instead of seven. It will improve the quality of gold and jewelery trade in the Dubai market,” Mahaba added. — trade arab news agency
