Dubai maintains its position as the world’s top destination for attracting greenfield foreign direct investment (FDI) projects for the second consecutive year in 2022.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, announced on Twitter that greenfield FDI projects had grown by 89.5% year-on-year and announced that FDI capital The inflow amounted to AED 47 billion.

“By 2022, the UAE’s share of global greenfield FDI projects will reach 4%. These extraordinary achievements support the strategic vision outlined in Dubai Economic Agenda D33. We are committed to building on these successes to further enhance Dubai as a leading global business and investment destination status,” Sheikh Hamdan said.

A total of 1,173 foreign direct investment projects were announced in the emirate last year. The emirate ranks seventh globally in terms of FDI capital flowing into greenfield projects.
