ABU DHABI, 17th March, 2023 (WAM) — The Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi and the National Library and Archives celebrated the graduation of the ninth cohort of students from the Professional Certificate Program in Archives and Records Management held on the university’s campus. This successful collaboration between the Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi and the National Archives has resulted in the graduation of 16 professionals from various sectors, who are now equipped to make a positive impact in their fields and contribute to the development of the region.
During the graduation ceremony, NLA Director General Abdullah Majid Al Ali expressed his delight that the graduation coincided with National Reading Month and that the National Library and Archives is organizing hundreds of events to celebrate the occasion. He extended his warmest congratulations to all graduates.
Dr Laurence Renault, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, highlighted the strong link between the University and the National Library and Archives. She said the university was committed to delivering exceptional programs that equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their careers and meet the needs of an ever-changing market.
Several officials and academics attended the ceremony, including Dr. Majed Al Khemeiri, Vice-Rector for Administrative Affairs at the Sorbonne University in Abu Dhabi, and Hamad Al Mutairi, Director of the Archives Department of the UAE National Archives.
