Emirates News Agency – Abu Dhabi Public Health Center hosts Thai delegation to discuss ways of bilateral cooperation

ABU DHABI, 4th July, 2023 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi Center for Public Health has welcomed a delegation comprising representatives of several prominent healthcare institutions in Thailand.

The delegation heard presentations on best practices in public health management in Abu Dhabi, and the use of technology and research to build a public health system that contributes to improved community health, disease prevention and control.

The visiting delegation included Dr. Lertluck Leelaruangsang, Director-General of the Department of Medical Services representing the Ministry of Medical Services of Thailand, Ms. Kutcharin Jiamsripongkochwing, Director of Klung Hospital, and a group of experts and experts in the field of healthcare. Department of Thailand.

The delegation was received by representatives of Abu Dhabi Public Health Center and Abu Dhabi Health Authority, including Matar Al Nuaimi, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Public Health Center, and Dr. Jamal Al Naqbi, Executive Director of Abu Dhabi Public Health System. Dr. Rashid Al Hammad, Director of Medical Research and Development at the Center and Abu Dhabi Health Authority.

The visit saw the delegation participate in a scientific seminar organized jointly with Center officials. The workshop focused on strategic projects in public health, medical research and innovation, and discussed avenues for the exchange of expertise and experience in the field of public health.

The delegation also learned about the public health and preventive healthcare system in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, as well as the smart solutions adopted by various initiatives and projects such as the life and death reporting system, disease registration system, and infectious disease surveillance system, which played an important role during the epidemic. In addition, they become familiar with the Tertiary Reference Laboratory Program and its critical role in molecular disease detection and infectious disease containment.

The visit will provide an opportunity to strengthen communications and bilateral cooperation between the UAE and Thailand in the field of public health, including exchanging expertise and successful experiences in disease control, promoting community health, and enhancing prevention and awareness measures using modern technologies. It aims to enable new discoveries and scientific advancements that benefit all parties involved.
