Emirates News Agency – Total deals worth AED23.34b signed during IDEX, NAVDEX 2023

ABU DHABI, 24th February, 2023 (WAM) — Tawazun Council signed 11 deals worth AED2.2 billion on behalf of the Ministry of Defense with local and international companies on the fifth and final day of the International Defense Exhibition, IDEX Mu, and the 2023 Naval Defense Exhibition (NAVDEX).

This brings the cumulative value of 56 deals signed by the Tawazun Council on behalf of the Ministry of Defense and Abu Dhabi Police to AED 23.34 billion.

The announcement was made during a press conference held by Ahmed Ali Al Harmoodi, Head of the Tawazun Committee’s Acquisition Management Department, and the Committee’s official spokespersons, Majed Ahmed Al Jaberi and Zayed Saeed Al Meraikhi.

“We are proud of the trust that our wise leadership has placed in us to manage the contractual, legal and financial aspects of procurement and projects from the MoD, security agencies and Abu Dhabi Police from launch to completion,” said Al Hamou Dee said.

He praised the success of IDEX and NAVDEX, which were organized this year under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

“IDEX and NAVDEX have contributed to strengthening the UAE’s position as a global destination for meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions,” he added.

Announcing the deals with local companies, Al Meraikhi said: “The total number of contracts signed today by the Tawazun Council on behalf of the Ministry of Defense is 11 with a total value of AED 2.2 billion. billion dirhams, and 5 contracts with international companies worth a total of 653 million dirhams.

The largest local contract, worth AED 799 million, was awarded to ESE for the procurement of ammunition. An ammunition procurement contract worth AED 14 million was also signed with ESE.

Another AED 612 million contract was signed with Etimad Strategic Security Solutions to provide technical support for border security systems.

Signed a Dh46 million contract with AM Industries to procure guardhouses and a Dh43 million contract with Aman Marine Engineering to provide technical support, maintenance and spare parts supply services for ships.

Other deals include a AED3 million contract with Falcom Eye Technologies to provide technical support and repair services for safety systems and a AED101 million contract with South Korea’s Hanawa Aerospace through Tawazun Technology and Innovation to procure multiple launch rockets Transmitter and provide local service support services.

Announcing the last day of deals with international companies, Al Jaberi said AED198 million worth of contracts were signed with France’s MBDA to procure data link equipment and AED90 million with Euro-Art International, also from France. AED contract to provide radar technical support services.

AED 108 million contracts with Swedish company SAAB for maintenance of the GlobalEye 6000 service and AED 59 million contracts with German company Rohde & Schwarz for procurement and Installation of telecommunications systems, AED198 million contract with the Chinese company CETC International for the procurement and installation of telecommunications systems.
