Etihad Rail Extra Services: Check New Dubai-Abu Dhabi Train Timings
Etihad Rail has added six extra Dubai-Abu Dhabi train services for October 3 and 4 after the new passenger route saw exceptionally strong demand during its first days of operation.
The additional services will provide more than 2,000 extra seats across the weekend. Etihad Rail announced the move on October 2, with three additional services scheduled for Saturday and another three on Sunday. The Etihad Rail extra services will operate at the same times on both days:
- 12:14 pm: Abu Dhabi to Dubai
- 1:43 pm: Dubai to Abu Dhabi
- 4:43 pm: Abu Dhabi to Dubai
Tickets for the additional services went on sale from 2pm on October 2. All timings are in UAE local time. The extra trains come just days after Etihad Rail began its Dubai-Abu Dhabi passenger service on September 30.
The route links Al Yalayis Station in Dubai with Mohammed Bin Zayed City Station in Abu Dhabi, giving passengers a direct rail option between the two emirates.
The initial services reportedly sold out for the opening weekend, prompting Etihad Rail to release additional capacity. The new services increase the number of travel options available during one of the busiest periods following the route’s launch.
Dubai-Abu Dhabi Etihad Rail fares and journey time
Tickets for the Dubai-Abu Dhabi route start from Dh39 for Comfort Class, while Premium Class fares start from Dh109, depending on the selected service. Passengers can book through the Etihad Rail website or mobile application.
The journey between the two stations takes around 64 minutes, according to current service information. Dubai’s Al Yalayis Station also has a pedestrian connection to the Dubai Metro Red Line, allowing passengers to continue their journeys using Dubai’s public transport network.
With the additional weekend services, Etihad Rail is responding to the immediate demand for the new intercity connection as passenger rail operations continue to expand across the UAE.
