First Payment Network to Offer WeChat Pay in UAE

Expanding on its Tencent partnership, Network International (Network), a prominent digital commerce enabler in the Middle East and Africa, introduces WeChat Pay acceptance on its UAE POS terminals. Chinese visitors can now seamlessly and securely transact using their WeChat Pay mobile wallets at 5,000 Network payment terminals across the UAE, including top malls in Dubai.

This move aligns with Network’s dedication to innovative solutions for merchant partners and caters to the resurgence of Chinese tourists in the UAE.

As a major merchant acquirer in the UAE, Network’s 200,000+ POS terminals, spanning retail, hospitality, and more, can benefit from this acceptance option.

WeChat Pay, a preferred method for Chinese travelers, aligns well with the UAE’s surging tourism sector, with China ranking among the top sources for Dubai visitors.

Pankaj Kundra, Group Head of Products, Partnerships, and Enterprises at Network International, expressed excitement about offering Chinese customers a familiar payment choice.

This partnership aims to enhance the UAE’s payment ecosystem by collaborating with influential international businesses.

Jeff Hu, General Manager of WeChat Pay EMEA, highlighted their commitment to providing safe and convenient payment experiences for Chinese tourists, bridging the mobile payment experience between China and the UAE.
