GE Gas Power Summit discusses industry trends and challenges

Regional leaders in the power industry discussed trends, challenges and opportunities for the broader power industry industrial ecosystem at a major conference organized by GE Gas Power.

The company hosted more than 200 organizations at the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) Strategic Partner Summit 2023, both in person in Dubai and as part of its drive to create significant value, improve service levels, and Develop safer and sustainable supply chains.

Under the theme ‘Winning the Energy Future Together’, the summit also outlined ways to strengthen and bridge supply chain gaps as countries in the region seek paths to low-carbon growth and sustainable development.

The annual hybrid event reinforces GE Gas Power’s commitment to fostering closer relationships among supply chain stakeholders in the MEASA region to achieve higher growth and meet the changing needs of customers in the region.

The five-day summit featured insightful discussions, online training, interactive sessions and one-on-one individual meetings with suppliers as attendees sought ways to take supplier collaboration to new levels and accelerate the pace of energy decarbonization in the region method system. While emphasizing best practices in quality and safety, experts also weighed supply base requirements for expanding new product portfolios, creating value for customers and creating additional opportunities for suppliers.

During the summit, GE Gas Power also recognized “Key Suppliers” at an awards ceremony for excellence in safety, quality, delivery, competitiveness and strategic partnerships.

Driving innovation in the UAE

In the UAE, Aon Middle East was recognized for its efforts to remain “competitive” in a challenging and disruptive environment, while Al-Madina Building Material Trading was awarded a “Strategic Partnership” for demonstrating the value of collaboration in the power industry Partner” category of honor.

For more than 80 years, GE has supported the development of energy infrastructure in the Gulf Cooperation Council. Today, GE-built power generation technology is installed at as many as 350 sites in the region. GE’s investments in the GCC include a service center in Jebel Ali, Dubai, providing maintenance, testing and repair solutions for generators and gas turbines; a GE Manufacturing and Technology Center (GEMTEC) campus in Dammam, which includes gas turbine services and Repair Center, High Temperature and Severe Research and Development (R&D) Center, Monitoring and Diagnostics Center for Remote Monitoring of Power Generation Assets, and GE Saudi Advanced Turbines (GESAT), a Dussur and GE joint venture to manufacture gas turbines in Saudi Arabia and components; GE Kuwait Technology Center (GEKTC), the first facility of its kind in the country, including training, tooling and research and development units. – TradeArabia News Service
