Howden acquires entertainment agent Franz Gossler


International insurance broker Howden has acquired Germany’s Franz Gossler Insurance Group, strengthening its position as Europe’s leading sports, film and entertainment broker.

Howden Group logoEstablished in 1970, Franz Gossler Insurance Group is an owner-operated company specializing in the entertainment, film, event and advertising insurance sectors.

The transaction was executed by Howden Caninenberg, a professional broker in Howden Germany.

The company said the acquisition is part of its strategic aim to invest in local expertise and position itself as the pre-eminent choice for domestic and international clients in the entertainment industry.

Howden Caninenberg’s Managing Director for Film, Klaus Eisenberger, commented: “Franz Gossler and his team have built a strong reputation in the field of film insurance for decades and are therefore the ideal partner for us.
