The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi has been informed that an unveiling event was held under the iconic dome of the Louvre in Abu Dhabi on Saturday ahead of the UAE’s 9th International Yoga Day. The main event of International Yoga Day will be held on June 21 in Dubai’s historic Port Rashid.

The event kicked off with a virtual message from Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence. His words of happiness, harmony and friendship echoed under the dome. With the breeze and breath, a certified yoga instructor conducts a 40-minute workshop based on common yoga protocols.

The dome housed approximately 350 participants from various nationalities, cultures and beliefs, reflecting the theme of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Yoga”. The official release stated that schoolchildren joined in large numbers and instilled the values of yoga from an early age. Ambassador Sunjay Sudhir was among them and a large diplomatic corps also graced the occasion. People of all ages participated, breaking down the stereotypes of yoga.
