On Friday, a significant seismic event of magnitude 6.0 struck the region of Hokkaido in Japan, according to a report from the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) as conveyed by Reuters.
The earthquake’s focal point was located at a depth of approximately 46 kilometers (about 28.58 miles) beneath the Earth’s surface, as indicated by GFZ’s analysis.
This incident follows an earlier occurrence this year when a powerful tremor resulted in one fatality and left more than a dozen individuals injured within the country.
