Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has traveled to Abu Dhabi with his family to enjoy the rest of the season following a historic Treble-winning season.

On a recent trip to the UAE capital with his young family, Edson visited the emirate’s iconic cultural landmarks and entertainment attractions, including the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi and Sheikh Zayed Great Mosque. Afterwards, he made a special trip to visit the football summer camp held by the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi led by Manchester City Football School of the United Arab Emirates.

He flew from Lisbon to the UAE capital on Etihad Airways, City’s official airline partner, the latest route on the airline’s European network, as well as new destinations such as Malaga and Mykonos.

During his summer stay at the Mandarin Oriental at the Emirates Palace, the Brazil star was delighted to see the next generation in the UAE stay fit and enjoy the summer sun in Abu Dhabi, wrapping up a historic year.

“It was fantastic to see all the kids today at the kids camp (Mandarin Oriental at Emirates Palace). They were all happy and enjoying the football game, which was great,” he said. “My wife and I decided to come to Abu Dhabi because they could enjoy everything, especially for my kids. We visited the Louvre, Warner Bros World and Ferrari World, so there is something for everyone .”

“We flew in with Etihad and my kids love the Emirates Palace, they love the pool, the beach and the food and my wife loves the spa. There’s so much to do here , so it’s great for everyone.”

The City goalkeeper was central to the club’s triumph in the Champions League final in Istanbul last month. Ederson made a number of world-class saves to help the club win their first Champions League title and cap off a treble-winning season in what proved to be a night for the City star An exciting evening.

He said: “Honestly, after the Champions League final, I cried with joy. It is too difficult for the players. We try to win this game every year, and it has taken a long time. It was written on the phone that we were going to win the Champions League and I thought we would, but we can’t count on the Treble.

“We’re delighted to have achieved it the way we did, we’ve made history for the club and it’s been incredible for the country. People have asked what it’s like to be a Treble winner, but for me it’s what I did in 10. Years, 20 years from now, I will remember more things.”

Ederson is best known for his ball control skills at his feet and his ability to distribute the ball with precision.

In the 2017-18 season, Ederson joined the English club Manchester City for 35 million pounds, becoming the most expensive goalkeeper in history based on the face value of the pound at the time of the transfer.

He won the Premier League and the Carabao Cup in his first season in England and won the domestic treble the following season. In total, Ederson has won five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four EFL Cups and the Champions League with City, who will form part of a continental treble in 2023.

Ederson made his debut for the Brazilian national team in 2017. He was included in Brazil’s squad for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups and the 2019 and 2021 Copa America, winning the 2019 tournament.
