exclusive: Matt Reeves‘ 6th & Idaho with China Youth Entertainment Production Kingdom of God – starring in a new genre of film scream VI’Second Melissa Barrerawhich will mark the American directorial debut Yegor Abramenko (artificial satellite).
The film, which will start shooting this summer, will star Barrera as a young Salvadoran woman who travels to Kentucky to meet her fiancé. As her American dream condenses into a biblical nightmare, what she discovers is something sinister beyond comprehension.
Will Sudeik (west world) to write the script. Reeves (batman) and Raffy Crohn (stories in the loop) will be teamed up with Ara Keshishian and Petr Jákl of ZQ Entertainment (funding development), Adam Kassan (end of viewing), and Varela. WME co-represents foreign and co-represents domestic rights with CAA Media Finance and will be in electron microscope.
“Egor is an exciting emerging talent,” Reeves told Deadline, “and I’m excited to be working on a monster movie together.”
Abramenko is a Russian filmmaker making his directorial debut with a sci-fi horror film artificial satellite. Although the film’s 2020 release at IFC Midnight was hampered by the Covid pandemic, the film received critical acclaim and was nominated for a number of major awards, including Critics’ Choice Super Award 2021.Other work by the filmmaker includes short films passenger, capsule and polaroid love.
Barrera is best known for her performance on Paramount/Telescope shout Reboot, Jon M. Chu’s Adaptation of the Lin-Manuel Miranda Musical in the highlands Warner Bros. and HBO Max and the acclaimed Starz series Life. She will appear next at Scream VIreleased March 10; Sony Pictures Classics Carmen with Paul Mescal; and Anthony McCarten’s scripted feature cooperationBased on the critically acclaimed drama.
6th & Idaho recently produced a film starring Robert Pattinson batmanReeves co-wrote and directed for Warner Bros., which grossed over $7.7 million worldwide, and nominated for three oscar awards. Reeves is currently writing Batman – Part Two Released in 2025; his 6th & Idaho banner will be in production soon batman Derivative series penguin, starring Colin Farrell, for HBO Max.Other notable projects from the studio include the sci-fi thriller mom/android For calabash, average joe For NBC, stories in the loop For Prime Video and upcoming features lift For Netflix.
One of the first projects for former CAA agent and producer Ara Keshishian’s company, ZQ Entertainment, was an adaptation of John Grisham’s book Calico Joe Working with George Clooney and Grant Heslov’s Smokehouse, Clooney will direct.The company is also collaborating with the upcoming book Anonymous Content Devil’s script, currently written by former Bloomberg reporter Lauren Etter, about the rise and fall of the Juul e-cigarette company. Also in development is a Simon Kinberg and Stephen King series based on King’s short story “Obituary.”
