MoIAT and Edge conduct first CEO 4.0 training

The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) and Edge Group successfully launched the first CEO 4.0 training programme.

This is part of a series of initiatives to activate the “Industry 4.0 Support Center” in the Ministry’s initiative to accelerate digital transformation.

Previously, the two parties signed a memorandum of understanding in August 2022 to expand Edge’s Learning and Innovation Factory offerings into the UAE’s industrial ecosystem.

CEOs of some of the UAE’s largest industrial companies have received training sessions focused on Lean, Lean Digital and Industry 4.0-related solutions at Abu Dhabi’s Edge Learning and Innovation Factory. The one-day training course provides manufacturing leaders with insights on how to enhance and improve factory processes and operations in their day-to-day operations to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction. The training also provides a forum for industry leaders and experts to discuss and is a way to encourage companies to implement best practices.

Tariq Al Hashmi, Director of Technology Adoption and Development, Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, said: “Education, training and upskilling are key elements of our strategy to increase the adoption of advanced technology in the UAE’s industrial sector. Our partnership with Edge will support the national industrial ecosystem system and ensure that all its stakeholders can participate in and benefit from the UAE’s journey to become a global innovation and manufacturing hub. We look forward to welcoming more industry leaders in the future as we scale up our efforts to support the digital transformation of businesses.”

The CEO 4.0 programme is part of MoIAT and Edge’s efforts to promote the adoption of advanced technologies and Industry 4.0 solutions in the UAE’s industrial sector. The ministry aims to provide national business leaders with knowledge on Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies and practices to increase productivity, efficiency and sustainability. Advanced technology is key to the goals of the UAE National Industrial Strategy, which aims to transform the UAE into a global manufacturing hub.

Ahmed Al Khoori, Senior Vice President, Strategy and Excellence, Edge, said: “The CEO 4.0 programme is the first for the Edge Learning and Innovation Factory for external stakeholders and is a testament to our ability to expand our facility’s offerings to, and strengthen, the wider industry. 18 companies

CEOs and executives from 18 companies including Adnoc, Emirates Macaroni Factory, BRF Sadia, BRF, Gulf Extrusion, Coca-Cola Gulf, RAK Ceramics, Ipack, FINE Hygienic Holding, Dana Steel, Algharbia Pipes, Lepidico, Emirates Global, etc. completed the Training Al and Abu Dhabi Vegetable Oil Company.

The Edge Learning and Innovation Factory combines theory, technology and practice under one roof to drive improvement and inspire innovative approaches to encourage digital transformation and operational modernization. It provides students with experiential, gamified and actionable learning that meets the future requirements of the industry. — arab trade news agency
