In a vibrant display of community spirit, over 4,000 individuals showcased their unwavering commitment to health and well-being by participating in the NMC Walkathon, a collaborative effort hosted by NMC Royal Hospital – Mohammed Bin Zayed City and the Mohammed Bin Zayed City Municipal Community Center. This remarkable event served as a poignant reminder of our collective power to foster a healthier community, one step at a time.

Commencing at 7:00 am amidst the picturesque surroundings of NMC Royal Hospital – Mohammed Bin Zayed City, the Walkathon witnessed a dynamic start with representatives from Abu Dhabi Police and the Municipality of Mohammad Bin Zayed City in attendance. Certified fitness instructors led an invigorating warm-up session, setting the stage for an exhilarating walk around the scenic locale.

Participants spanning across generations, from families to fitness enthusiasts and community leaders, relished the opportunity to soak in the fresh air and bask in the vibrant atmosphere, buoyed by the support of dedicated volunteers from the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, NMC Specialty Hospital, Abu Dhabi; NMC Royal Hospital, Khalifa City; NMC ProVita; and CosmeSurge.

Dr. Deep Makkar, the General Manager of NMC Royal Hospital – Mohammed Bin Zayed City, expressed his profound delight at the overwhelming turnout and community enthusiasm.

“We’ve had a wonderful day engaging with our community outdoors, underscoring the invaluable health benefits of embracing an active lifestyle,” he remarked. “Regular physical activity, such as walking, offers numerous advantages – it strengthens muscles, maintains a healthy weight, and mitigates the risk of cardiovascular ailments, hypertension, and diabetes.
