ABU DHABI – Global management consultancy Oliver Wyman has appointed Adel Alfalasi as its new UAE head. In this role, Alfalasi will oversee the management consultancy’s operations in the United Arab Emirates.
Alfalasi has over two decades of experience in senior roles in the private and public sectors in the UAE, working as Executive Director in the UAE Prime Minister’s Office before turning to management consulting.
Alfalasi succeeds Anshu Vats in this role. After more than 30 years in the industry, Vats will take on the key role of senior thematic advisor to the firm globally and will continue to be an integral part of Oliver Wyman’s India, Middle East and Africa presence.

Alfalasi works in Oliver Wyman’s Public Sector Practice and is an expert on topics including large-scale transformation and public sector excellence.He is currently writing a book new silk road Working with Hong Kong-based Oliver Wyman Partner Ben Simpfendorfer. The duo are exploring new dynamics in the Middle East and Asia — which account for 45 percent of the global economy — and how the business story is no longer a simple exchange of goods, but now also involves capital, talent, and technology.
Alfalasi is also responsible for leading Oliver Wyman’s Consultant Development Program in the UAE, a 6-12 month program that helps develop future talent by giving UAE graduates hands-on consultancy experience to kick-start their careers. He is also a board member of Injaz, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship in the Arab world.
