Orlando, FL, February 8, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — SeaWorld Rescue is now global with its first center outside the U.S. today at Abu Dhabi. YasSeaWorld Research and Rescue (YSWRR), Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, is the MENA region’s first dedicated marine research and rescue center (see separate press release issued today). Building on SeaWorld’s nearly 60 years of animal care and rescue experience, YSWRR will conduct a comprehensive research, rescue, rehabilitation, return and education program that will make an important contribution to the conservation of marine life in the UAE and the wider MENA region.The first SeaWorld Rescue Center outside the U.S. launches a network that connects to three locations near SeaWorld U.S. parks orlando, san antony and san diego. SeaWorld launches first rescue operation outside US

The world-class marine rescue and research center includes rescue vehicles and equipment, a rescue clinic, a state-of-the-art veterinary hospital, rehabilitation ponds, on-site laboratories and aquaculture facilities. YSWRR is equipped with a high-tech auditorium and classrooms to facilitate knowledge transfer and inspire the next generation of marine scientists. The Center also conducts basic research focusing on marine ecology in the Arabian Gulf, covering topics such as marine biodiversity, ecosystem resilience, protection of sensitive wildlife, critical habitats, fisheries, pollution and wildlife health.

SeaWorld’s expert team of veterinarians and animal care specialists has nearly 60 years of expertise to inform animal care, rescue, rehabilitation and conservation around the world. Each rescue team member receives extensive training on-site at SeaWorld and our stranded network partners. They have a great working knowledge of animal safety, animal transport, oil spills and more.

Rehabilitation and medical treatment is challenging due to several factors including logistics, physiology, and anatomy. These insights help improve animal health, rescue and classification.
